About the Parliamentary Workshop
“My favorite thing about the camp was the multiple practice debates because they sincerely helped me. As well, I liked some of the night activities, including Cookie Night and Trivia Night.”
–Camille Moeckel, Deerfield Academy, Massachusetts
“A lot of things were really great – the learning, the camaraderie, the debates themselves, the food.”
–Ben Barnes, Hamden High School, Connecticut
The Parliamentary Workshop will focus on presentation, persuasion, and argumentation skills. Students will learn about a variety of debate topics, attend classes to learn important skills, participate in practice speeches, drills, and debates, and attend a tournament on the last day of the workshop.
Students will also take a field trip to the Calvin Coolidge Memorial Site, where they will participate in public debates in front of distinguished guest judges.
